Heroine: You know you've been holding me like this for days, right? I'm sure the Professor has woken up by now.
Darn it, Heroine! You're too difficult to draw. Maybe not Konnan's arm or Neopets' Bruno difficult, but still pretty darn difficult. It doesn't help that I can't keep your design consistent. Warrior? Ninja? Soulweaver? Heck, I don't know!
I really need to pull her concept together. At this point, I'm ready to just describe her as "a generic female ninja, but with pants".

Heroine: Apprentice, I need you to calm yourself, remember why you're here... and maybe put me down. That would be nice, too.
So I was reading about Konnan on the DF Encyclopedia and apparently, Konnan and Drakonnan are considered two different characters worthy of two different entries, but Konnan and Apprentice aren't. Heck, they even labelled Apprentice as "Konnan" in the Book Two dialogue. Huh.
Actually, his dialogue box may actually be labelled like that in-game; it's been a while since I did that quest, so I can't remember. I know that the companion is labelled as "Apprentice". I remember this because I usually cart him along on all my quests and my brother (who hadn't played Book 2 at that point) did not recognize him and thus was free from spoilers.
Anyway, after a long look at Apprentice's armor, it looks like it's made up of three materials (not counting the chainmail/fishnets/whatever). The main part that the chest piece, gauntlets, and part of the boots are made of seems to be metal, but barely visible under the chest piece looks like a leather shirt, presumably to keep the chest piece from chafing. Under that is a cloth shirt (visible at the shoulders or, most notably, his collar) which is presumably there because leather is uncomfortable to wear against your bare skin.
The one thing about his armor that makes me cringe is his shoes. Although they're the same color as his cloth shirt, I'm going to assume that they're made from leather simply because your feet are the one part of your body you really don't want to get hurt, considering how fast blood flows there.

To let my non-existent watchers know that I'm actually working on stuff. When this is finished, I'll post a comparison, but for now, the old one is in storage.
That said, this one isn't even done and I like it better. It shows that Konnan is much bigger than Heroine without being over-the top about it, and rather than her cowering (which is no longer in character, as she has become more stoic since I drew the first piece) she's being civil and trying to speak to him.
